We have previously introduced items that cannot be transported by air (click here to review), and today we will introduce what items cannot be transported by sea freight containers.
In fact, most goods can be transported by sea freight in containers, but only a few are not suitable.
According to the national "Regulations on Several Issues Concerning the Development of China's Container Transport", there are 12 categories of goods suitable for container transportation, namely, electricity, instruments, small machinery, glass, ceramics, handicrafts; printed matter and paper, medicine, tobacco and alcohol, food, daily necessities, chemicals, knitted textiles and hardware, etc.
Which goods cannot be transported by container shipping?
For example, live fish, shrimp, etc., because sea freight takes longer than other modes of transportation, if fresh goods are transported by sea in containers, the goods will deteriorate during the transportation process.
If the weight of the goods exceeds the maximum load-bearing weight of the container, such goods cannot be transported by sea in the container.
Some large accessories are over-height and over-wide. These goods can only be transported by bulk carriers placed in the cabin or deck.
Containers are not used for military transportation. If the military or military industrial enterprises handle container shipping, it shall be handled as commercial transportation. Military transportation using self-owned containers will no longer be handled according to the container transportation conditions.
In the transportation of container goods, for the safety of ships, goods and containers, appropriate containers must be selected according to the nature, type, volume, weight and shape of the goods.
