Senghor Logistics has learned that German shipping company Hapag-Lloyd has announced that it will transport cargo in 20' and 40' dry containers from Asia to the west coast of Latin America, Mexico, the Caribbean, Central America and the east coast of Latin America, as well as high-cube equipment and 40 'Cargoes in non-operational reefers are subject to General Rate Increase (GRI).
The GRI will be effective for all destinations on April 8 and for Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands on April 28 until further notice.
Details added by Hapag-Lloyd are as follows:
20-foot dry container: USD 1,000
40-foot dry container: USD 1,000
40-foot-tall cube container: $1,000
40-foot refrigerated container: USD 1,000
Hapag-Lloyd pointed out that the geographical coverage of this rate increase is as follows:
Asia (excluding Japan) includes China, Hong Kong, Macau, South Korea, Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam, Cambodia, Philippines, Indonesia, Myanmar, Malaysia, Laos and Brunei.
West Coast of Latin America, Mexico, Caribbean (excluding Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands, United States), Central America, and East Coast of Latin America, including the following countries: Mexico, Ecuador, Colombia, Peru, Chile, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Honduras, Guatemala, Panama, Venezuela, Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay.
